While we're waiting for the final results thought it may be interesting to have a look at the top scores shot in the Ironman over the years. Recurve Freestyle: Mark Smith 784 (2013) First record was set by Terry Webb in 2008 who shot 762. This was broken in 2010 by Mark Renouf with 764. Mark Smith surpassed this in 2011 with 771 and then added another 13 points in 2013 for the current record 784. Interestingly, all Recurve FS records have been shot at Bristol. Compound Unlimited: Derek McAuley 827 (2010) Original Compound record of 826 was set by Ben Jones of Merlin Archery in 2008. This was beaten by Derek in 2010 by just one point. Iirc, Derek shot in the Glasgow Ironman. Recurve Barebow: Sam Knight 681 (2012) Original high score of 558 was set in 2008 by Dave Andrews. This was smashed in 2009 by Miranda Timmerman with 609 points. The record was again smashed in 2010 by Ewa Johannson-Phillips with 646, beaten again by Dave Andrews in 2011 with 656 and currently held by Sam Knight who shot a 681 in 2012. Horsebow (Unmounted): Adrian Leach 445 (2011) First Horsebow record was Bruce Lockhart in 2010 with a score of 371. In 2011 Adrian added an extra 74 points for a record of 445 points. Longbow: Martin Leonard 535 (2009) High score of 415 originally held by Trevor Astley in 2008, beaten by Martin Leonard with 535 points in 2009. Looks like this may be set to fall in 2014! American Flatbow: Wolfie Hughes 519 (2013) Iirc, we only introduced this class in 2013 and had no AFB entries this year. But well done to Wolfie for a whopping great 519!
